Pyrenees walking holidays are based at Les Sorbiers in the traditional pyrenean village of Bareges, a perfect base to discover walking, trekking, tramping and hiking in the French Pyrenees. Describing the true awe of the Pyrenees Mountain passes and Cols with mere words is difficult.

Our walking holidays are specially made for the independent or for guided groups, everything from easy walking to serious hiking. We welcome walkers of all ages, levels of fitness, families, singles, couples or groups. We offer our clients the option to choose anything from a weeks' fixed based day walks through to weeks' hut trekking across the Pyrenees hiking to the highest summits in both France and Spain.

We can offer tailor-made holidays with the best trekking routes using local guides, combined with our own extensive independent local knowledge of the history, gastronomy, wildlife and love of the Pyrenees. Walk with a local English speaking mountain guide who will be professionally qualified and will aim to give you the personal attention to detail.

Many of the walking weeks described on this website are undertaken -guided by our experienced and compliant mountain leaders. They will keep you safe, show you the route and add value to the enjoyment of your holiday. Local guides have have gained their qualifications in the local area an area in which they have lived all their lives, they know an enormous amount about the history, of the area, flora and fauna. There are several lovely walking trails for the independent or guided hiker, accessible directly from the front door of our pension Les Sorbiers in Bareges, including the famous GR10 which crosses the Pyrenees from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean. The Pyrenees National Park, and the Neouvielle nature reserve just a short walk away above the village, with breathtaking Cirques of Troumouse, Estaube and Gavarnie these are also close by. The range of walking is so extensive here that there is literally something for everyone, all ages, levels of fitness, families, singles, couples or groups.
